Summer Programs

scienceEach year we have a six week academic summer program for newly admitted students, and our students who need to complete their grade level work before they can move to new grades, and nursing classes for students interested in pursuing medical careers.

Sabu is currently working on setting up a Summer Camp which will focuses on three areas; academic, community service and soccer/football.

The school shall be looking for teachers, and high school students who are interested in community service projects in West Africa. The program will last for three weeks.


Summer program

SIS Academic Summer Camp program will include these activities: 
  • Train K-12 teachers
  • Class for grades 5-12 (math, science, government, health, speech, leadership, peace building, Economics, history, fashion, biology, internship program, art and craft, biodiversity, 
  • Helping  to set up the SIS library
  • Computer and music classes for SIS students
  • Sport(soccer, and basketball)
  • Auction fundraising

SIS  Community Service Summer Camp

Activity Program for International Participants will include:

  •  Gardening
  •  Painting the school
  • Dying fabric 
  •  Recycling project
  • Ballet drum and dance
  • Art and craft ( beads, woven bags, woven baskets, making drums, carvings)
  • Field trips adventure ( Sierra Leone, and Liberia, and Mali )
  • Cooking African dishes
  • Biodiversity of Guinea, Liberia and S/L
  • Cultural traditions 
  • Soccer leagues Summer Trips
  • Global Youth Leadership Trips(Sabu students only)
  • National Association for Independence School trips (Sabu students only)
  • Trips to Europe
  • Trips to the Sub region of West Africa
